Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Joseph Baena, is apparently taking after his father in the bodybuilding department. In a recent Instagram photo, the 21-year-old struck the same legendary pose his father made famous back in the ’70s, showing off his lats and biceps.

“Just a lil thicc,” Baena wrote in the caption.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger, who got engaged earlier this week, often had an adorable third wheel on their dates: Pratt’s six-year-old son, Jack, from his previous marriage to Anna Faris. “Instead of mostly enjoying solo, romantic dates, Chris’ son from early on was a very big part of their dating life,” a source told People. “Katherine never minded that her dates with Chris many times involved a kid activity, like a matinee movie, or going to Disneyland. Katherine is like a big kid and loves doing activities with Jack. She loves that Chris is a dad.”

The source also shared that, although Schwarzenegger doesn’t have kids, she loved seeing Pratt interact with Jack — and it’s one of the reasons she realized early on that the two are meant to be.

Proving that she has Jack’s best interests front and center, Schwarzenegger is totally on board with living in the same neighborhood as Faris so Pratt and his ex-wife can more easily co-parent. In fact, Faris and Pratt’s divorce terms include an agreement to live within five miles of each other until Jack finished sixth grade. Faris even told SheKnows that she and Pratt make sure to have family dinners with Jack so he continues to feel connected to both his parents.

Shortly before announcing their engagement, Pratt posted a “moving day” video to Instagram as he helped Schwarzenegger move out of her Santa Monica home.

HPV vaccination rates remain critically low among younger adolescents in the U.S.

Only about 16 percent of U.S. adolescents have been fully vaccinated against human papillomavirus (HPV) by the time they turn 13, despite national recommendations that call for vaccination at 11 to 12 years of age. Published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases, the new findings highlight the need for stronger efforts to encourage HPV vaccination and to improve immunization rates in this key age group.

“Providers need to be aware that, while we have seen gains in HPV vaccination coverage, we are still falling behind at the younger ages,” says Robert A. Bednarczyk, PhD, of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and lead author of the study. “In general, we need to do a better job of recommending the HPV vaccine at the routine, adolescent, and well-child visits, with a particular focus on 11 to 12 years of age.”

Nearly 80 million people in the U.S. are currently infected with some type of HPV, a common virus transmitted through sexual contact. Every year, HPV causes approximately 34,000 cancers, including cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancer in women; penile cancer in men; and mouth, throat, and anal cancer in women and men. The most recent version of the vaccine protects against seven of the most common types of HPV that cause cancer.

For the study, researchers analyzed 2016 data from a nationwide survey of parents conducted annually by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that includes vaccination information verified by providers. Overall, an estimated 43.4 percent of 13-to-17-year-olds were fully vaccinated against HPV. But only 15.8 percent of adolescents had received all recommended HPV vaccine doses by their 13th birthday, the analysis found. Among older teens, an estimated 34.8 percent of teens were up-to-date on their HPV vaccination by the time they turned 15.

Timely HPV vaccination at 11 to 12 years of age has several advantages. The immune response to the vaccine is stronger at a younger age, providing better protection against HPV infections and the cancers they can cause later in life. If an adolescent is vaccinated before age 15, only two doses of the HPV vaccine are required, instead of the three doses that are recommended for vaccination after this age. In addition, the HPV vaccine is one of three vaccines recommended for 11-to-12-year-olds that can be given at the same time. (The tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis [Tdap] vaccine and the meningococcal conjugate vaccine are the other recommended immunizations at these ages.)

The new analysis also found that adolescents with more than one health care provider were not as likely to be up to date on their HPV vaccination by age 13 or 15. These results highlight the need for good record keeping, effective use of state immunization information systems, and increased provider awareness to make sure these patients are not overlooked when considering vaccination opportunities, Bednarczyk says.

In a related editorial commentary, Melissa B. Gilkey, PhD, and Marjorie A. Margolis, MPSH, both of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and who were not involved with the new study, noted that the results indicate much work remains to achieve HPV vaccination rates in line with current U.S. guidelines.

“Fully realizing the potential of HPV vaccination will require a multi-faceted effort involving scalable health systems interventions, a greater understanding of geographic disparities in HPV vaccination coverage, and improved data on HPV vaccination,” they wrote in their commentary, which appears with the study in the Journal of Infectious Diseases. As the findings show, they noted, “vaccination timeliness is critically low and our work is far from complete.”

Doctors are warning women to not take the ‘irresponsible’ advice of putting parsley in their vagina to kick-start their period.

The bizarre suggestion was made by women’s magazine Marie Claire alongside other recommendations using food, drink and exercise.

Women may want to make their period come sooner as a means of controlling their cycle ahead of a holiday or special event.  

According to the article, parsley is an emmenagogue – a substance that increases menstrual flow – which can ‘soften the cervix and level out hormonal imbalances’. 

But doctors have now urged women to never insert vegetables into the vagina, as it could lead to health risks – including potentially death. 

Doctors are warning women to not take the ‘irresponsible’ advice of putting parsley in the vagina to kick-start their period. According to the Marie Claire article, parsley is an emmenagogue which can ‘soften the cervix and level out hormonal imbalances’

Dr Shazia Malik, a London-based obstetrician-gynaecologist, told The Independent: ‘There is no evidence of any benefit to a woman of doing this, and clear risk of significant harm as deaths have been reported.

‘I would urge women not to insert anything unless they have taken proper medical advice.’

The piece suggested women may want to make their period come sooner as a means of controlling their cycle ahead of a holiday or special event. 

But two medics hit back and said that vegetables generally aren’t something that should be put in a vagina for any reason.

Mayo Clinic states ‘the presence of a vaginal foreign body may alter the normal bacterial flora of the vagina’, which can cause discharge, itching and pain.


She said: ‘That is not something that is recommended by gynaecologists.

‘There are only a few things that should go in your vagina and vegetables generally aren’t one of them.’

The Marie Claire article said: ‘While few of us would feature parsley as the main part of a dish, it turns out the herb is a mild emmenagogue and can help to kick-start your period, so you might want to look into some parsley recipes ASAP. 

‘Parsley can help to soften the cervix and level out hormonal imbalances that could be delaying your cycle, helping your period come faster. 

‘If you’re struggling to find a dish based on parsley, don’t panic – the most effective forms are said to be parsley tea and parsley vaginal inserts.’ 

Emmenagogues are defined in herbal medicine as a stimulant for menstrual flow but have no scientific studies to support this, and it is not used in practices. 

It is not the first time parsley has been claimed to induce a period. 

Bustle wrote in April 2015: ‘As any herbalist will tell you, emmenagogues are a family of herbs that stimulate blood flow in the pelvis and uterus, and can sometimes make your period come sooner.

‘The recommended dosage for these herbs is two to four cups a day, taken in tea form.’

Parsley has been used before as a herbal-medicine to induce home abortions, seen as ‘risk-free’ because it is natural.

But in August last year, it was reported that a 24-year-old mother-of-two from Argentina had died after trying to induce a miscarriage by using parsley.

Her death happened a week after the Argentine Senate rejected a bill that would have legalised abortion up to 14 weeks. 

Clairín, Argentina’s largest newspaper, reported that the victim, only referred to as Elizabeth, died of septic shock and infection. 

Dr Newman said there are ways to manipulate the menstrual cycle, as the Marie Clare article suggested, but these should be discussed with your gynaecologist.’

Apple cider vinegar 

Experts urged women not to use trendy apple cider vinegar to ‘tighten’ their vaginas in October 2017 after online blogs and forums encouraged women to carry out the bizarre douching technique.

Aside from vinegar being completely ineffective at tightening the vagina, Professor Linda Cardozo from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London warns it could disrupt the organ’s delicate ‘good’ bacteria, putting women at risk of irritation and infections.

To maintain the vagina’s strength and tone, women should perform pelvic floor exercises regularly, Professor Cardozo recommends. 

Cleansers, lubricants and wipes

Women who use intimate-health products are more at risk of bacterial, fungal and urinary tract infections (UTIs), research in April 2018 from the University of Guelph, suggested.

Vaginal sanitising gels raise women’s risk of developing a genital bacterial infection by almost 20 times and a yeast infection, like thrush, by eight times, a study found.

Intimate washes make women 3.5 times more likely to catch a bacterial infection and 2.5 times more at risk of a yeast infestation, the research adds.

Vaginal wipes double the risk of a UTI, while lubricants and moisturising creams increase women’s susceptibility to thrush by 2.5 times, the study found.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Jade Eggs

A gynecologist slammed Gwyneth Paltrow’s suggestion for women to put jade eggs up their vaginas as ridiculous and dangerous.

Writing on her lifestyle blog goop, the Hollywood actress claimed the $66 rocks boost orgasms, vaginal muscle tone, hormonal balance, and ‘feminine energy’.

Women, Paltrow explained through an interview with her ‘beauty guru/healer/inspiration/friend’, should clench the egg inside them all day to exercise their pelvic floor.

But acclaimed gynecologist Dr Jen Gunter warned in January 2019 that the whole idea is nonsense – and could even increase the risk of bacterial vaginosis or deadly toxic shock syndrome.

Vaginal scraping

Doctors warned about this procedure after Mel B, 43, revealed she had the insides of her vagina scraped out and new tissue put inside after her bitter divorce with ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.  

The procedure, which has been largely unheard of until Mel B spoke out, could lead to a serious risk of infection, experts have said. 

Dr Jen Gunter – gynaecologist, obstetrician and author of The Vagina Bible – told Refinery29 that women should ‘never, ever have their vagina scraped’ – or even douched – which cleans the vagina using a douche and fluid. 

She said: ‘Any scraping of the vaginal epithelium [tissue] could affect the vaginal ecosystem and theoretically could spread HPV locally and would increase a woman’s vulnerability to infection.

She added that the vagina regenerates itself every 96 hours and the surface cells are shed every four hours.

Doctors found out now that consumers benefit from green tea, more of the antioxidants of the beverage, if you use instead of tap water, carbonated water, the calcium, Magnesium and filtered, and the iron concentration was reduced.

The scientists of the Department of Food Science Cornell University found in their recent study that antioxidants in green tea have a better effect, if the tea is brewed with still water from bottles. The experts published the results of their study in the English journal “Nutrients”.

More antioxidants in tea lead to a bittereren taste

If you drink green tea, your body benefits from the antioxidants contained in the drink, it may be advantageous to him with a glass of plain water from the commercial brew and not with tap water. So you can benefit from the antioxidants in the drink. However, more antioxidants also cause the tea tastes bitter, say the researchers.

Subjects drank black and green tea in the study

For the study, a total of more than 100 subjects were recruited. The Participants were then asked to taste black and green tea, which was brewed with bottled water, tap water and deionized water. In the case of black tea taste differences are too subtle

If you drink because of its health properties of green tea, you should use bottled still water, says study author Professor Robin Dando from the Department of Food Science. They drink their tea only for the taste, tap water is better, adds the expert. The Participants were not able to taste the difference, whether the drink was brewed with water from the faucet or water from the bottle, in the case of black tea. The author of the study Melanie Frank of Cornell University added that the average consumer of black tea see the difference, the taste differences are subtle.

Why is green tea with bottled water healthier?

Professor Dando is believed that the minerals contained in tap water, such as Calcium, iron, Magnesium, sodium, and copper cause the brewed green tea contains a lower EGCG content. Bottled water in which calcium or Magnesium was filtered, and the iron concentration to a level it has lowered, you can extract the EGCG is more efficient, adds to the doctors.
